    I debated a long time between the F100, Nikon F5, Canon EOS 3, and Minolta 8i. The F100 won out due to the number of features which actually HELP me take pictures. The F100 is a great (albeit, pricey) point and shoot camera; but, for the advanced amateur, it has the NEEDED features to go out and get some great shots. Very rugged and durable.     Having used Nikon FE and F3 since 1980 and 1985 respectively, I can very well appreciate the huge improvement F100 makes over the older models. F100, in my opinion, is just about the right weight and mass. The vast number of diverse functions and thoughtfully positioned control knobs make F100 very versatile.
