The HTC Touch PDA phone from the Taiwan-based High Tech Computer Corporation was launched in June 2007. The first editions of the HTC Touch, also referred to as the HTC P3450, came with 128 megabytes of Flash ROM and 64 megabytes of SDRAM and was available in two colors: Soft Black and Wasabi Green. An updated version, the P3452, was released in November and featured twice the amount of memory and two new colors: White and Burgundy. Both the older and newer models have a microSD card slot for memory expansion.
This PDA phone has a 2.8 inch TFT LCD touchscreen running at QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) resolution, a 2 megapixel CMOS color camera, WiFi b/g connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0. The device runs on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional platform and has handwriting recognition software built-in.
The HTC Touch’s main and unique selling point is its user interface. Dubbed TouchFLO, the interface is capable of recognizing sweeping motions made by either the user’s fingers or the included stylus. The phone’s multimedia functions (photo album, music and video player) and photo-based address book navigation can all be done through finger gestures. The TouchFLO’s finger and stylus gesture-based navigation has brought on comparisons to the Apple iPhone, although the HTC Touch was released a few weeks earlier and does not feature the multi-touch gestures of the iPhone.
With the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0 software powering the HTC Touch, the device comes loaded with, among other things, Pocket Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and a PDF Viewer) and the Internet Explorer Mobile (or PocketIE) web browser.

For me, Windows Mobile has always been primarily focused on data access, rather than data creation or modification. The Touch excels in this regard. It's not a multimedia powerhouse, but it ... Read more
Overall, the HTC Touch is one of the better Windows Mobile phones I’ve seen in awhile. The lack of a QWERTY keyboard can be overlooked after a few days of practicing using the on-screen keyboard. Plus the screen looks fantastic, the WiFi is fast, and the TouchFLO interface is pretty fun to use. On the other hand, no US release date, a terrible camera, and the fact that it’s still a Windows Mobile device make the Touch seem unappealing at times. I’d recommend getting i... Read more
If you're looking for WM power on Alltel, you can go for the HTC PPC6800, a fine device with both a sizable touch screen and a full keyboard, but you'll end up paying much more. A 400 MHz, fully fledged Windows Mobile Professional device for a mere $129.99 (with contract) is pretty impressive. Given the lack of a physical keyboard, I wouldn't recommend the Touch to beginning smartphone users, but Windows Mobile aficionados will find a great deal here. Read more
The Touch offers a wealth of features in a small package and the innovative Touch Cube interface allows users to take advantage of the TouchFLO screen. This screen technology gives users quick access to many one-touch features, such as text message and photos. The Touch's audio quality is not great, but this phone provides a solid smart phone that is perfect for on-the-go professionals to stay organized and in touch. The de... Read more
HTC's Touch is being billed as an alternative to Apple's iPhone, and for the most part it is a worthy one. The Touch's price is about the same as that of the iPhone: It costs $350 (as of 12/20/07) with a two-year AT&T contract. Read more

Bought this over an IT fair and it was one of the cheapest PDA phone around. Quite satisfied with it given that phone connectivity as well as syncing and Wifi were easily configured and had not been much of a problem. the touchflo system is also very helpful. I just switched from a normal phone to a PDA one and I would say that most irks came from windows mobile and not the phone itself. e.g. the need to close all applications again from the taskbar, high memory requi... This phone is finally what people that have had pdas in the past been looking for, small compacted, and touch screen. Greetings, I have never purchased a phone from other than the carrier. 1) Can I get an HTC Touch Cruise to work on the T-Mobile network? 2) Will all the features of the phone work (GPS w/ TOMTOM, WIFI, IE Browser) 3) What are the chances that the carrier will disable my phone even if I get it working? 4) I hear T-Mobile is going to start offering a 3G...
