- Conclusion: Super-small and offering great video quality for well-lit subjects, the HDC-SD9 is a very good camcorder that records in a hard-to-edit format.
- Pros: Superb video in brightly lit conditions; extremely small; includes software to burn HD footage to standard DVDs
- Cons: AVCHD files are problematic to edit; one-handed control is difficult; low-light footage lacks detail; no microphone jack
