So, the big question is: should you buy it? If you can't get enough of Mario then go ahead and buy it right now. It offers more than what was found in the original and will last you for some time. Those who've never played the game should also get it as they're really missing on something. If you're tired of Mario 64 though then you might want to wait for the New Super Mario Bros as Mario DS is essentially the same game with a few added extras. They're good extras, but... Read more
Admittedly, if Nintendo had simply ported the game from the Nintendo 64 and added nothing new, it would have a much tougher time standing on its own two feet today. But Nintendo has brilliantly changed and reworked a lot more of the game than you'd think at first, right down to the way its simple-but-charming "save-Peach-from-Bowser" story is told. In fact, in a rather surprising change, Mario isn't even the central hero anymore; right from the beginning, you play as... Read more

So Vaughn calls me up and says "I've got a DS and a few games for you. Get over here and get working" as if I don't do enough for that smart ass. But I've wanted to get my hands on one of these babies since I heard about it and thanks to my lack of funds right now, a free DS sounded pretty good. I later discovered that it wasn't even his DS, which meant it wasn't mine to keep. So now he's a CHEAP, smart ass. Read more
Super Mario 64 DS is the full package. With 30 extra stars to collect, a few new levels thrown in, unique power-ups and characters, addictive mini-games, and even a multiplayer battle mode, the game truly delivers a great experience for Nintendos new handheld. I didnt have any major problems with the controls and the game is as wonderful to play now as it was back in 1996. Out of all the launch games, and Ive played them all, Super Mario 64 DS is the best one... Read more
I've played this game on SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advanced, Nintendo 64 and now Nintendo DS. The graphics and sound are great as they both go along with typical Mario theme. The graphics only continue to get better as Nintendo continues toinvent new handheld gaming systems. This game has plenty of stages many of which are very challenging. I prefer Nintendo over any other gaming system because of Nintendo unique characters such as Mario, Donkey Kong,... Read more
Nintendo finally remakes Super Mario 64 after almost 10 years. But is the remake as good as the original? PAINTING POWER In this game, you enter most of the levels by jumping through paintings. That is one of the really innovative ideas that this game has. That is a really cool way to enter levels. HOPPING FROM LEVEL TO LEVEL What does that even mean, you might ask yourself. Doing backflips and jumps to access secret areas and levels, which is a cool idea that some other... Read more
