If you haven't ever played a Zelda title before (you have missed a lot but I know many gamers who haven't) this is a pretty good example of what the series has to offer. Think of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass as Wind Waker: Episode 2 for your DS, right down to the sailing through cell-shaded prettiness. Don't be hasty and write off Phantom Hourglass because of its accessibility. Where hardcore gameplay is shaved off, pleasing diversity replaces it. Phantom Hourglass is an ambitious first Zelda for the DS, but it lands far behind previous handheld titles in the series. Hopefully the inevitable sequel will nix the irritating parts like sailing and over-use of the touch-screen and focus on the good elements, like the map notations and creative item applications. Before Twilight Princess there was The Wind Waker, a charming GameCube adventure that was considered a masterpiece by some and a disappointment by others. The game is about saving a princess from a pirate ship! you have to travel around little islands,with your special steamboat which jumps in the air over obstacles. You have a cannon on your ship later in the adventure,where you can shot at enemys on the sea,parts of the ds are required to use to finish parts of a puzzle.
