See lessAll in all, the Samsung BD-P1500 is a solid Blu-ray player offered at a great price. With a street price as low as $250, it's one of the least expensive Profile 2.0 players you can currently buy.. I’d like to see the BD-P1500 behave with a bit more stability, but perhaps that’s something Samsung can address with future firmware updates. The BD-P1500 isn’t the best choice for someone with an older, non-HDMI receiver; however, if you’ve already upgraded your audio... Read more
Shrewd online shoppers will find the Samsung BD-P1500 for the paltry sum of £170. That’s pretty impressive, considering that just over a year ago the cheapest Blu-ray player was the £300 PlayStation 3. So, the Samsung spinner might have price on its side, but it’s a mixed bag on the features front. Out of the box, the BD-P1500 is only Profile 1.1 enabled, though this isn’t a massive problem as Samsung has a firmware update in the pipeline. You’ll be able to... Read more

This is my first blu-ray player and I'm not disappointed. Firmware updates are available that will bring this player up to a type 2.0. You do have to plug in a 1 gig device to go 2.0. It does a great job of upconverting my SD DVD and, as a bonus, seems to play many of the +R and +RW DVD I have as well. The owner's manual says it won't play plus R/RW, only minus R/RW. I'm using a $10 set of HDMI cables that seem to be working fine with this player and my TV. I would give... Read more
Just got this 2 days ago and I have had no freezing problems with 5 movies. Easy to use and picture quality is SUPERB. Not to mention getting $110 worth of Blu-ray movies (Matrix Trilogy) added in for not charge. With tax, I spent $267 and couldn't bemore pleased (so far). Read more

"This is the very first Samsung player I ever purchased. I wanted an all Samsung entertainment center. I started off with the LCD TV about a month ago. I purchased the Samsung LN45A750, normal DVD's looked good, but any flaw in the video shows big time on this TV. So I figured it was time to upgrade to Blu-Ray. The style of the BD-P1500 case is simple black color with very nice lines. Once I took the unit home, setup was a breeze. Plug the unit in, and take a HDMI cable... Read more
I got this as a deal with my Samsung TV and basically it was free considering I didn't pay shipping or state tax. Newegg may not have the cheapest prices all the time but with the free shipping and not paying tax its well worth it to me. Read more
