Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S NIKKOR uses enhanced optical formulas that are engineered to produce exceptional sharpness, contrast and color, rendering outstanding image integrity. This lens is equipped with two Extra-low Dispersion (ED) elements and PGM aspherical lenses which control chromatic aberrations while enhancing sharpness and contrast even at the widest aperture settings.

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S NIKKOR ’s exclusive Nano Crystal Coat further reduces ghosting and flare for even greater image clarity. Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor (SWM) enables ultra-high-speed autofocusing with exceptional accuracy and powerful, super-quiet operation. Internal Focus (IF) feature provides fast and quiet autofocusing without changing the length of the lens, retaining subject-working distance through the focus range. Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S NIKKOR can have focus as close as 10.8 inches at the 24mm setting. This lens has a rugged construction with professional-grade dust and moisture resistance. TheM/A focus mode switch enables quick response to changing situations between auto and manual focus operation. This lens has a Zoom Ratio 1.7x and minimum aperture of 2.8 and maximum of 22. This lens measures 3.8x5.2in. (Diameter x Length) 98x131.5mm (Diameter x Length) and weighs 35.3oz. (1000g).

    The Nikkor AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G ED N is a phenomenal lens. It is the sharpest ultra-wide angle lens tested to date. The resolution figures are simply stunning and unprecedented specifically at 14mm and that's straight from the maximum aperture setting. So far it is the only lens in this class which has the potential to scale beyond the pixel-density of 10mp APS-C sensors.     I decided to purchase this lens based on the abundance of superlative reviews even knowing its high price and am very satisfied with my decision. I was able to use this for travel photography on two recent trips. While not lightweight, the l4-24 is very durable and sturdy and feels very well balanced on my D200.
