Question: How can a 4:3 monitor be widescreen too?

I'm looking at a LG W2242tQ-BF at http://www.directron.com/w2242tqbf.html#caption. This monitor claims to be 4:3 (which I like, because much of my P'shop work is 4:3), but it also claims to be widescreen, and the resolution is 1680 X 1050, which is 1.6:1, not 1.33:1. In a 4:3 mode I presume the horizontal res is cut back to 1400:1050. If it were really 4:3 and full screen, the res would need to be 1680 X 1260. What is 4:3 about this monitor?

ok.. as far as I know most nay monitor can be both, you just change the aspect ratio of whatever you're viewing, i.e. a movie. I assume that's what they mean... I'm sure you can run the monitor at most nay resolution you want, most LCDs can do that now..
