The ViewSonic VX1940w has an ultra-high resolution of 1680 by 1050 pixels. In addition to this, the video response rate is at 2ms only and the typical ratio for image contrast is an outstanding 3000 to 1. The 19-inch display allows for side-by-side viewing of two documents as well as superior clarity on the images and graphics. The connectivity feature allows the user to interconnect game consoles, DVD players and other multi-media devices through the various inputs available. For added security and prevent information theft, the VX1940w features a security port made by Kensington as well as a power lock to secure the user’s screen settings.

There are a wide range of image quality testing applications and resources available today. One of our current favourites can be found over at Lagom . Detailed tests for everything from colour gradients to gamma calibration and pixel response are included along with a detailed guide to interpreting what you are seeing. With a TN+Film panel, we weren't expecting fireworks from VX1940w in terms of raw visual oomph. Nevertheless, it's about as good as this type of panel... Read more

I purchased the VX1940 as a replacement for my previous 19'' Viewsonic of which the PS board failed. I like the widescreen aspect as it allows the viwer to see more on the screen, i.e. for MS Office, games, etc. However, the main drawback to this monitor is the native resolution @ 1680x1050. I am running the monitor at this resolution on DVI however it is very difficult to see words that cannot adjust to the aspect. When playing gmaes, the screen appears too sharp,... Read more
