I am wanting to build a home server and would like to know what would be a good Motherboard.

I have no preferance for AMD or Intel. I would like at least 4 SATA connections.

Are you talking a full server style motherboard? Or do you just want to build around a standard motherboard? What I mean is that server mobos can cost quite a lot of money over a 'regular' mobo. So you have a budget for the board? If it's just going to be a basic server then I'd go with a cheaper style microATX mobo with built-in video so you won't have the extra expense of a video card. Of course you could just invest in a NAS server box which can do the same thing for you. I've got two NAX boxes and I love them, each have their own features, and one even has a built in CPU, and dedicated RAM as well. NAS boxes are a nice option for a home server..
