The Brother MFC 9840cdw Color Laser Multifunction Center uses a Color Laser Technology for its printing, to a maximum speed of 21 pages per minute for both color and black and white. It has a print resolution of 2400 by 600 dpi and a paper capacity reaching up to 250 sheets. It also allows for double sided printing with a standard memory of 128 MB. Colored and Black and White fax messages may be sent using this device, with a modem speed of 33.6 kbps. It has several capabilities such as fax forwarding, dual access, automatic redial, as well as switching back and forth from fax to phone. Copying is also available for color and black and white, with a speed of 17 copies per minute. It can even copy documents without the use of the computer. Scan resolution reaches 1200 by 2400 dpi.

It doesn’t come cheap, but if you’re looking for a versatile machine that does its job well, the MFC-9840CDW is a worthwhile investment. I use this many times throughout the course of the day and have found that it always has been reliable. We do a lot of high quality print jobs that are of the most importance. Yes, I have to agree that it could be faster, but the print quality is good and I have not experienced any problems with this printer after 4 months. I highly recommend this product. Read more

This unit is HEAVY. Also, make sure that you have a dedicated outlet, because it sucks up the juice. All of my lights dim whenever the unit turns on to make a copy. Read more
