Canon PIXMA MX850

The Canon PIXMA MX850 is an all-in-one inkjet printer, scanner, copier, and fax machine. It measures 20.0 x 10.2 x 19.0 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 30.7 pounds. The machine features a 2.5-inch TFT screen and supports connectivity through Hi-Speed USB 2.0, Bluetooth v. 2.0 + EDR, a wide range of memory cards, PictBridge, and Ethernet.

Printer

The Canon PIXMA MX850 prints up to a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi (black) or 9600 x 2400 dpi (color). Printing speed is at 31 pages per minute (black) or 24 pages per minute (color). It makes use of 5 ink tanks consisting 4 dye-based colored inks and 1 pigment-based black ink. The entire system uses 4,608 nozzles with 1, 2, and 5-picoliter droplet sizes.

Each of the two paper trays (rear and bottom cassette) accommodates up to 150 sheets of a wide range of paper sizes. Using the two trays, the printer allows for easy double-sided printing.

Scanner

The MX850 features a Contact Image Sensor (CIS) that can scan documents up to 8.5 x 11.7 inches at a maximum optical resolution of 4800 x 9600 dpi which can be interpolated up to 19,200 x 19,200 dpi.

The machine also features an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) that can accommodate up to 35 sheets with a maximum size of 8.5 x 14 inches. Through the ADF, the machine can scan at a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi.

Copier

The Canon PIXMA MX850 copies up to 31 copies per minute (black) and up to 24 copies per minute (color). It can reduce copies up to 25% and enlarge up to 400%. It also has features for multiple copying (up to 99 copies), sorting, fit-to-page, 4-in-1 or 2-in-1, and auto duplex. Preset copy ratios are also available. 


Fax Machine

The MX850’s color fax machine has a modem speed of up to 33.6 Kbps that can transmit documents in black at 3 seconds per page and in color at 1 minute per page. It has a transmission reception memory and a memory capacity of up to 250 pages.
