Players of Need for Speed: ProStreet control the character of Ryan Cooper, a former street racer who seeks to be the best racer in the country and become known as the Street King. To achieve this, players must dominate a number of challenges against kings from different racing crews for drag, drift, grip, and speed. Only when the player has dominated enough showdowns will Ryan Cooper be able to race against Ryo Watanabe, the Showdown King. The player will become the Street King only when he has beaten the Showdown King. The Street King will hold all the crowns as king of all racing crews.
In the PC version of Need for Speed: ProStreet, there are a total of 55 playable cars. A Collector’s Edition can be downloaded to add on 5 new cars. But the folks over at Black Box and EA have completely overhauled a redesign of the series in the form of Need For Speed:... Read more
At first, Need For Speed ProStreet is quite a neat experience to have, but after some time in career mode you’ll get bored nonetheless. It’s just too damn long. The level of Most Wanted is never even touched and to be honest, ProStreet barely succeeds in over classing Carbon. The graphics look good, and the main part of it is thanks to the visible damage done to your car and their effect on the car's handling. Some of you probably won’t be able to appreciate this... The Need for Speed series over the last few years has provided gamers with an excellent alternative to the likes of Forza, Gran Turismo and PGR, but EA's decision to move closer to those kings of the racing genre was a big mistake. ProStreet isn't a bad game, it simply doesn't hold a candle to its competition, and Need for Speed fans will be left wondering where all the fun has gone from the illegal, turned legal, street racing series. Need for Speed ProStreet doesn't quite have enough meat to cover its bones and is best suited for players who are in for the challenge, not the big crashes. Read more

Fast cars and thrills but faster promotional opportunities mar a classic set–up. Bundled into ‘race days‘ is the way they‘ve tackled the illegal street racing underworld. It‘s a strange set–up making legal something which in essence isn‘t but it works. So, each race day will divide into a set number of races and your beloved (and possibly collision–damaged) dream machine will have to survive until the sun goes down. This means you‘re going to have to... Read more
