Way back in the era of the PS1 a game released from Konami revolutionized the fledgling survival-horror genre made famous by Capcom’s Night of the Living Dead inspired game Resident Evil. This little game, following on the coattails of Konami’s “other” hit PS1 game Metal Gear Solid, was called Silent Hill. This game was what Resident Evil was not, super-uber scary. This game was guaranteed to fray your nerves, the game’s atmosphere and dark, occult themed... Read more

I?m trapped in a hallway and all the walls around me are profusely bleeding and throbbing. There is something vaguely human, on all fours, gnawing on my leg. Am I experiencing another horrible LSD flashback? No. Have I found myself vacationing in survival horror?s number one vacation spot Silent Hill again? Yes. Welcome to Silent Hill, more specifically, the third and most twisted installment of the series exclusively for the PS2. SH3 introduces us to a teenager by the... Read more

There are not too many games that really give me a good scare. Silent Hill 3 is one of the best I've encountered. I have always enjoyed the Silent Hill series because it relies on both actual things to scare you, like monsters jumping out of the bushes at the right moments, and also more imperceptible means, like a far-off noise or the odd setup of a room. It keeps you on edge even when you are in a completely safe environment within the game. The game is a horror... Read more

While too skimpy on details during the first few stages, near the halfway mark, things improve and the story starts kicking in. While the previous installments suffered from confusing storylines -- especially the first game, which had me scratching my head in confusion nearly all the way through -- Silent Hill 3 actually makes a decent amount of sense, and even goes so far as to clarify some of the events in the first game. It took 3 games to do it, but we finally have a... Read more

The game has all of the creepiness of the first game. The controls are a bit difficult. I do not like the way they swing around when walking it is kind of disoreinting. Read more

Silent Hill 3 is a creepy game that keeps you guessing to the very end. Its dark atmosphere and frightening noises can keep you playing all night long. The graphics have improved from its predecessors. The unfortunate part about the third in the series is that it's incredibly short. It took me about 4 hours the first time, then 3 hours the second. However, the game is a must have and will keep you busy in trying to find all of its easter egg secrets and the alternate... Read more

"When The Silent Hill Franchise Began Way Back In 1999, It Was Released In A Flurry Of Hype, But To Mixed Reviwes, Immediately Gaining ‚cult Classic’ Status. Its Sequel (which I Have Also Reviewed Here) Was A Far Superior Game, And A Complete And Total Departure From The Hollywood Shocks Of The Capcom Games. It Blended Unprecedented Characterisation With An Engrosing Storyline And Extreme Atmosphere, Becoming Revered As The Standard-bearer For The Survival Horror... Read more
