The ICD-P620 is a digital voice recorder from Sony. It measures 1.36 x 4.32 x 0.7 inches and weighs 2.3 ounces with 2 AAA batteries, which are included in the box. In LP recording mode the ICD-P620 can last up to 22 hours of continuous recording. The device has internal flash memory of 512 megabytes, which can store more than 260 hours or recordings. It is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista and connects via USB.

This digital voice recorder has a sizable LCD screen that displays the date and time, battery status as well as the number of recordings and recording time. It has built-in loud speakers and microphone. There are also inputs wherein the user can hook up headphones and an external microphone. In addition to the 2 AAA batteries, the Sony ICD-P620 package also includes a CD containing the Digital Voice Editor software as well as a USB cable.

Features

The Sony ICD-P620 has three recording modes: High Quality (HQ), Standard Play (SP) and Long Play (LP). In HQ mode, the device can store up to 59 hours and 45 minutes of recordings. In the extended play modes the ICD-P620 can hold 159 hours and 20 minutes in SP and 261 hours and 45 minutes in LP mode. It also features Digital VOR (Voice Operated Recording) which intelligently stops and restarts recordings when it senses a pause in dictation. The Overwrite feature, meanwhile, allows the user to easily correct their mistakes without taking up additional memory.

For easy organization of recorded messages, Sony has provided 4 message folders as well as an easy search and “Cue and Review” features. Individual recordings are also automatically stamped with a date and time.

    "This as a pretty decent recorder, it was easy to use, and the folder options was convenient. It needed to be fairly close to the subject to capture their voice well, but once I had positioned it close enough, it worked great. The number one problem is the enclosed software.
