Overall we were impressed with the quality of cameras and the software included.   Adding the Carl Zeiss lens was clearly the best improvement to the cameras, as they allow for clear, rich HD quality video.  Then, to go along with that improvement they included RightLight and RightSound software to improve the overall internet video qualities.  Ultimately, if you are looking for that upgrade to a high quality webcam, or upgrade from text instant messages to vibrant... This is the first of the "thousands" series cameras by Logitech (3000, 4000, 5000, 9000) to break from the eyeball style. (I wonder where the 6000 and 7000 went?) The 9000 looks very much like the Fusion, except there has been a change in the stand. Instead of being bendable rubber, the 9000 has a stand similarly shaped to the Fusion, but of hard plastic, with a center tongue which can be used to stabilize the camera on a flat panel screen, or flipped up to allow the... Worked with Skype the moment I plugged it into the USB port. That's under Linux (Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex), mind you -- apparently the uvcvideo driver it requires was part of the standard install as this is my first ever webcam. Now getting the HD resolutions and frame rates is more of an exercise (google for CaptureWidth/CaptureHeight and uvcdynctrl). I am currently seeing 960x720 with very decent optical quality and backlight processing but the frame rates are... Read more

Its not often I get the chance to say the product exceeded my expectations, But the Logitech Quick Cam Pro 9000 most certainly does. Out of the box to first use was under ten minutes. Ease of installaton can't be beat. Photo and video quality (even in low light conditions) are excellent. Read more

It's a bit expensive so it really makes you think twice and thrice about getting it. I think a better price point would be $60 and not $90. Logitech... get with it. I would definitely recommend it. Read more
