This sports game for the Wii features six different sports: American Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Bocce, Cricket and Disc Golf. These six sports have simplified rule sets, nonrealistic physics, and take place in a beach resort setting.
Big Beach Sports character’s movements and actions are controlled only through the Wii Remote. None of the six sports require any other peripheral such as the Nunchuck. The game has both a single-player mode and a multiplayer mode.
WIth a multiplayer mode, up to 4 people can play at the same time. For the Bocce and Disc Golf games, 4 players take turns with their character.
In single player mode, the player can choose from either Tournament or Quick Play games. Big Beach Sports’ Tournament mode pits the player against a progressively more difficult computer opponent. With each game and each win, the player’s character will receive Skill Points in a specific sport. These Skill Points will determine the difficulty setting of the computer when playing Quick Play matches. Skill Points for each sport max out at 999 points.
See lessThe English weather can't be trusted. It's a pretty well known fact. In winter - cold and wet. In summer - slightly less cold and about as wet. We need some kind of summer in our lives, so it's just as well that THQ and HB Studios Multimedia have brought Big Beach Sports to the Wii to introduce a spot of summer to our lives. The action plays out on a luscious tropical island, where players can take part in volleyball, soccer, American football, boules, disc golf and... Read more
This is a game that had potential, but that potential was not fully realized. The game is not terrible, especially in a multiplayer setting, but it just fails to connect in a truly long-lasting entertaining way. Read more
Read more

Wii Sports gets a new contender with Big Beach Sports. Featuring six activities, including Frisbee golf, cricket, American football, and the gameplay has motion-sensitive actions, such as swinging a bat or throwing a Frisbee. Everything else is done automatically, leading to this game's biggest problem. There simply isn't enough to do, outside of competing with friends (up to four at once) and playing through tournaments for unacceptable rewards. It's a decent rental,... Read more
Not so big, but enjoyable nonetheless. Summer‘s here – sort of. Equally, Big Beach Sports promises to serve up lashings of sunny, funny, cutsey tropical mini–games. And it does, up to a point. Neither the summer or BBS has so far been sensational – but when enjoyed for what they are, you get the required pay–off. So, welcome to this week‘s Wii motion–sensor sports title, such is the frequency of mini–game titles capitalising on any reason at all to get... Read more
