There are three modes of play with Super Smash Bros. Brawl – the player can try out the single-player, the multi-player, or the online multi-player mode depending on their preference. Though this game is simpler than other fighting video games in the market, even Nintendo veterans will appreciate the scope of the game and ease of use. Super Smash Bros. Brawl also relies on a double-layer disc, which is a first for Wii games. This game is also special because it prioritizes ring-outs (or being able to knock your opponent out of the ring) over knockouts. The characters who fight it out in the ring come from the Nintendo pool of video game characters
See lessthere is a lot more to the game then just that like teching and trying to master the speed smash timing of the characters that is needed to win the game, using their unique abilitys that can only be used for that certain character unless you choose to use kirby, and many more things that would take me a lot longer to explain, it is just the best party game made yet.

Chris: Brawl does the frantic fun better than Melee did, that’s for sure. I think that overall it’s an improvement, and I don’t think I’ll be going back either. With a lengthier single-player, online play, and stage editor, Brawl adds a good amount on top of its predecessor while tweaking the balance a bit. Is it perfect? No, but no game ever is. It’s fun, and that is what’s most important. When it comes to multiplayer, at least, Brawl is a hard game to beat. Read more

THE VERDICT: It's one of the first things I've played with Solid Snake involved that I haven't absolutely loved. Shame, as it is a fair bit of fun at times, but things just fall flat far too much. It's irritating and confusing, and it just doesn't make for this epoch-making fighter that everyone seems to be gushing about. Sorry. Read more
The latest Nintendo fighter has arrived on the Wii console that continues from the popular Super Smash Bros. series and features a plethora of Nintendo characters from Metroid to Zelda and even Snake from the Metal Gear Solid Series which has recently made a comeback on the PlayStation 3. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is oozing with Nintendo goodness and is unlike any other fighting game currently available on the market at the moment. Read more
It's impossible not to admire the series' remarkable accessibility and engrossing multiplayer battles. Indeed, Smash Bros is as addicting as it's ever been, but it's certainly not perfect. Some of the character additions left me baffled, and the Subspace Emissary just doesn't live up to the polish seen in every other aspect of the game. Either way, with an epic online mode, dozens of unlockable characters and stages and hundreds of collectible trophies, Brawl deserves... Read more

A nice breakdown of the game, especially discussing randomness. Unfortunately, that’s always turned me off from games like Mario Party, Smash Brothers and Mario Kart. When someone blue shells or star swaps me, I get set off into a murderous rage. As a result, I killed all my friends and no longer have a use for communist Nintendo party games. Read more
