The Wii fit has become one of the most popular accessories or games for the Wii, we all want to be healthy, and the Wii Fit makes it fun and easy to do our exercises. The whole point of the Wii Fit is to make exercise fun and exciting, and if the sales numbers of over two million plus sold are any indication, it’s doing a good job.
The Wii Fit consists of a balance board that measures the users weight and can figure out the center of gravity as well, the included software can then calculate the body mass index after the player inputs their height and weight.
There are over forty activities included with the Wii Fit to get you on your way to a fit and healthy body, the activities are broken into four categories, Yoga, with several exercises included, Balance Games like Soccer, Skiing, Ski Jump, and Table Tilt. There’s also several strength training games included as well and even an Aerobics section which includes things like jogging around a virtual island and using a Hula Hoop.
The Wii Fit isn’t just all about exercising, it can change how you balance, how you move and how you exercise overall, it combines fitness and fun in one product.
One of the things that makes the Wii Fit so engrossing is that it’s personalized, it includes a personal trainer just for you that uses the information about you that you’ve given it to help you along with your training and exercise regiment. Just like areal trainer, you’ll get helpful guidance along the way, and tips on how to best perform the exercises. The trainer will guide you and let you know just how to do things the right way. The Wii Fit board is very sensitive so the trainer knows if your shaking, or leaning off to the side in one of the Yoga exercises, then you’ll get corrective advice to help you perform the task better.
For all of the exercises you’ll receive detailed animations of exactly what you’re supposed to be doing, and afterwards you’ll get feedback from your trainer to praise your work, or helpful feedback to help you improve the next session.
As you’re doing each exercise or task you’ll earn points, or ‘Fit Credits’ that go into the Wii Fit Bank to help you unlock new activities or games. The credits are accumulated not by just playing, but by actual time doing an exercise, so you have to work to get the credit for it. This system actually works well because you have to be doing something, it only includes actual time spent exercising and not just overall time playing the game, so you have to actually be doing an exercise and getting fit to earn your rewards.
As you progress in your routines, newer ones will be unlocked depending on how much time you have already spent on the task. Just like a real gym, once you master one exercise you can move on to the next, harder level to continue your training and improve yourself.
One of the main features of the Wii Fit is the ability to chart your progress though the software, this not only gives you an idea how fit you are becoming, but it give you a nice comparison to go by with your original body mass index, you’ll be able to see visually your progress, or lack thereof.
There’s also an included activity log so you can even add the time you’ve spent exercising other places other than the Wii Fit so you can really get a good idea of how you’re doing.
One of the things interesting about the Wii Fit is the possibility of it being integrated with WiiConnect24 to keep in contact with a doctor to help with a persons rehabilitation or you could even connect with a real trainer to help with your training.
Of course though it’s not all about working out, it’s about having fun and getting fit in the process, making exercises something fun for everyone. The makes exercising more enjoyable, and some of the activities even allow for more than one person to play, so you could take a jog with a friend and get fit together.
The Wii Fit is for all ages, everyone can use it a benefit from it, not only is it a way to get healthy, it’s a lot of fun along the way to a healthier you..

I try to push myself to do about 30 minutes a day on the WiiFit. I thought it would be hard, but the games are so fun and interactive, 30 minutes goes by in a flash. At the end of the 2 weeks, I met my goal! 1 lb doesn't sound like much, but when you have not seen the south side of 200 lbs since you were in your early 20s, 1 lb is a step in the right direction. Will I become the next Mr. Universe with the WiiFit? Of course not, but I am on my way to a better, healthier... Read more

Most of the exercises are fun to watch, if not fun to do. WiiFit has the potential to be a great party game, as well as an in home gym setup. It's certainly family and kid friendly, and can possibly help all you parents out there convince your children that on occasion, exercise actually can be fun! The only tips I really have to leave you with are: make sure your feet aren't sweaty when you're on the board, and make sure you know where your pets are at all times.... Read more

I haven't been able to find a friend willing to exercise with me and am not willing to pay the hefty $$$ to pay for a personal trainer so the Wii Fit is a reasonable and cost effective way to get me off the couch and moving around. I'm not really motivated to exercise despite recognizing that I should so this is a low impact introduction to exercising that makes exercising fun and enjoyable. I agree that it's not for those who exercise already unless they are interested... Read more

Sort of a blah game... This game is pretty fun, and completely appropriate for all ages, but I find it a bit repeptitive, and it is definitely not one of the better games on the market today... in my opinion not worth the extremely high price tag. The game is fun to play, and is pretty accurate with the weight and BMI, but it doesn't do a very good job with helping you stick with a plan. If you are like me and dedicated, you won't have much of a problem getting on every... Read more
I love this game! I have a few-week old baby and am trying to get back into shape. This doesn't promise miracles, but it's a fun and useful way to exercise when you can't get out of the house (who said consoles were making us obese?). I've only had it since Friday (5 days) and yet I don't know how I did without it. The game comes bundled with a wii fit board, which is like a set of scales the size of an opened magazine. It's surprisingly responsive and can measure the... Read more
Giggles aside, the Fit board works perfectly. Lending itself ever onwards to interaction with the virtual world, Nintendo, masters of packaging and marketing, have come up with the talking point of the next six months; the Wii Fit board. Bundled with an impressive selection of fun fitness games, jogging and stretching exercise, a bit of yoga and plenty of aerobic workout, is the sturdy and rather cool looking peripheral. Once you‘ve fired it up, it will be the key to... Read more
