D-Link DI-524

The D-Link DI-524 is a high speed wireless router that is compatible with 802.11g and 802.11b networking standards. The DI-524 measures 4.3 x 1.2 x 5.6 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 7.8 ounces and has a detachable reverse SMA antenna. It can be mounted on the wall using the included wall brackets or placed on a flat surface with removable rubber feet. Also included in the package is an Ethernet cable measuring 68 inches.

As a Wireless G router, the D-Link DI-524 promises data transfer rates of up to 54 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz frequency. It has a maximum operating range of up to 328 feet indoors and up to 1,312 feet outdoors.

In addition to the 802.11g and 802.11b wireless standard compatibility, the D-Link DI-524 also offers a built-in 4-port Ethernet switch. With these ports, the user can connect Ethernet-enabled computers, print servers and other devices. Configuring the router is made easy by D-Link’s Setup Wizard, which guides users through a step by step setup process.

For security, the D-Link DI-524 provides a built-in advanced firewall as well as WEP (64 bit and 128 bit) and WPA security encryption. The built-in firewall and security controls offer advanced security features such as MAC and IP address filtering, port blocking with time scheduling, URL and domain blocking as well as NAT (Network Address Translation) with VPN Pass-through.
