Included in the standard package are an Ethernet and phone cable (with Annex A units) and a 30-day free trial of Trend Micro’s Internet Security software. Linksys’ Setup Wizard is compatible with the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later.

As an all-in-one device, the WAG160N functions as a high speed ADSL2+ Modem, a Wireless N Access Point, router and Ethernet switch. The built-in wireless Access Point function uses draft 802.11n networking technology. With a 802.11n network, the user can enjoy up to 12 times the speed and 4 times the range of an 802.11g network allowing the user to share a high-speed Internet connection and transfer large files such as music, videos and photos. It is also backwards compatible with 802.11g and 802.11b networks. It also offers 4 built-in 10/100 Ethernet ports to connect Ethernet-enabled computers, print servers and other devices

For security, the Linksys WAG160N provides a built-in Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall as well as WEP (64 bit and 128 bit), WPA and WPA 2 (Personal and Enterprise) security encryption. In addition, the router also features MAC and IP address filtering, PAP and CHAP authentication, Access Point isolation, Denial of Service (DoS) prevention, VPN Passthrough for IPSec, PPTP, and L2TP Protocols and a ToD filter.
