The WMP300N Wireless PCI adapter complies with the draft specifications of the upcoming 802.11n wireless networking standard. With an 802.11n network, the user can enjoy up to 12 times the speed and 4 times the range of an 802.11g network, allowing the user to share a high-speed Internet connection and transfer large files such as music, videos and photos. In addition to offering increased range, Wireless N technology also minimizes dead spots. The user may actually get a speed advantage the farther away he is from the access point. The 802.11n standard is also backwards compatible with 802.11g and 802.11b networks.
Installation and setup is simple with the Linksys Setup Wizard. The Wizard provides a step by step guide to configuring the adapter to work with the user’s network.
For security, the Linksys WMP300N offers support for advanced security encryption using 128 bit WEP, WPA and WPA 2.

If you think you are going to get a big signal forget it. I bought this for my computer thinking I would get strong signal from a low signal but it didn't work any better than my D-Link antenna. Maybe this works better if you have a N Router but I have a 54G and I do not recommend it if you are trying to increase your range. I do recommend The D-Link antenna which cost $40.00. It's better than paying 100.00 for this Read more
