Linksys WUSB300N

The Linksys WUSB300N is a USB Wi-Fi adapter that works with 802.11n wireless networks. This Wireless-N adapter is also backwards compatible with slower 802.11g and 802.11b networking standards. The WUSB300N measures 2.24 x 0.39 x 3.98 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 1.02 ounces. It is compatible with desktop and notebook computers with a USB 2.0 or 1.1 port and running on the following Microsoft operating systems: Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 and Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or later.

The WUSB300N complies with the draft specifications of the 802.11n wireless networking standard. With a 802.11n network, the user can enjoy up to 12 times the speed and 4 times the range of an 802.11g network allowing the user to share a high-speed Internet connection and transfer large files such as music, videos and photos.

The Linksys WUSB300N is simple to setup and use. The included CD-ROM comes with a Linksys Setup Wizard that takes the user through an easy step-by-step installation. It also offers plug and play operation thanks to the USB 2.0 interface. The device also has LED lights that indicate power, link and activity status.

For wireless communications security, the Linksys WUSB300N offers support for up to 265 bit WEP encryption as well as industrial strength Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA and WPA 2) encryption.

The WUSB300N WIreless-G adapter also comes with a USB extension cable and extension base. The extension cable lets the user place the adapter up to five feet away from the computer.
