The WUSB54GC is compatible with the 802.11g wireless networking standard and offers wireless speeds of up to 54 Mbps. 802.11g networks promises up to 5 times the speed of older 802.11b networks. The wireless adapter also provides backwards compatibility with 802.11b networks (at 11 Mbps).
The Linksys WUSB54GC is simple to setup and use. The included CD-ROM comes with a Linksys Setup Wizard that takes the user through an easy step-by-step installation. In addition, the WUSB54GC has a convenient push button setup feature. With a push of a button on a SecureEasySetup-enabled wireless device and the Access Point, a secure wireless connection can be made automatically. It also offers plug and play operation thanks to the USB 2.0 interface. The device also has an LED light that tells the user of his wireless link status.
For wireless communications security, the Linksys WUSB54GC offers support for 64 bit and 128 bit WEP encryption as well as industrial strength Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) encryption.
The WUSB54GC Wireless-G adapter also comes with a USB extension cable. The extension cable lets the user place the adapter up to five feet away from the computer.

Bought two adapters one for a desktop and one for a laptop. Very easy to set up and use without have to string cable across my entire house. One is located upstairs opposite by office and the other down stairs. No problem accessing the internet on either. Saved money by not having to go through cable company and adding additional cable.
