Question: Is it normal for wireless signal strength to vary by the second?

I have a simple netgear wireless router. I find that the wireless signal detected by laptops etc varies from excellent to nil and drops out every few minutes. This means that any VPN session I am using has to be restarted every few minutes. Is this normal and can I do anything about it?

its obviously not normal if your system is dropping out. you prob have a weak signal strength. you can do a few things. You can buy a new wireless card for your lapto-- the new one might be stronger-- You could return it if it doesnt work. You could reset the netgear box, but that might just be a short term fix.
