Devil May Cry is the new Xbox 360 game that follows the adventures of Dante, a half-demon, who hunts the demon leader Mundus who he believes killed his parents. While on his quest, Dante meets his demon twin, Vergil. He also meets and saves his future partner Trish. But after his defeat, Mundus vows that he will return and succeed in his ambition to rule the world.

The game is played by accomplishing missions to advance, by fighting demons or other enemies, succeeding in tasks, or even solving the occasional puzzle. Ratings that help speed up advancement are based on a player’s speed, props use, combat style or injuries.

Creativity and guts will allow the player to advance. Players can also use Dante’s “Devil Trigger” which transforms him into a powerful demon temporarily. But it will take skill and style to reach the highest levels and finally avenge the murder of his parents.

    The gameplay is addictive, leaving plenty of room for experimenting with tons of cool moves and fighting styles. There's even some replay value here, seeing as you can always return and complete the game using a different difficulty mode and revisit secret missions you weren't able to finish first time around.     Well after all this, where does "Devil May Cry 4" stand in the ranks of its predecessors?On the whole it stands up really well. Bar a few annoyances, it is a return to form and fans of the series won't be disappointed at all.     TIP: In Devil May Cry 4, you can invoke the Dark Slayer style for Dante (who appears later in the game) for slower but waay more powerful attacks by pressing the D-pad in any direction twice; he'll say "get set" to confirm you've hit it correctly. Read more

    It's hard to say what makes DMC3 a better game, but DMC4 could certainly of learned from the previous entry's "less is more" motto.  DMC4 stretches the game out to twice its length by having you retread almost all the game again with Dante, with minor changes to the environments.  It's boring and repetitive, and having Dante sub-in for Nero breaks the deal.  It's not enough to call DMC4 a bad game, but it's far from stellar.  After God of War 2 and Resident Evil 4,...     I have never been a huge fan of this particular genre of game, but Devil May Cry 4 has certainly softened me toward its charms. Visually this game is stunning, sumptuous, detailed and varied environments fill every part of the world of DMC4. The real attraction of the game is however the fighting, which is superbly balanced yet far more accessible than any previous DMC game.
