Far Cry 2 was released as the official sequel to Far Cry even as the developers of the original game did not take part in its development. Far Cry 2 also features a different setting, a new style of gameplay, and a new set of characters. Apart from this, the original game features sci-fi characters that cannot be found in Far Cry 2.
The game can be played in both single player and multiplayer modes. It is set in a war-torn African state where two factions compete with each other for control over the state. These two factions include the United Front for Liberation & Labour and the Alliance for Popular Resistance. The players’ task in this mission-persistent game is to use all means necessary to find and assassinate an arms-dealer who has been known for dealing weapons to both factions.
When in multiplayer mode via LAN or internet, yup to 16 players can join a game of Far Cry 2. There are four multiplayer game modes available. These include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Diamond, and Uprising.
Far Cry 2 features the Dunia Game Engine which Ubisoft Montreal developed specifically for it. Because of this game engine, the game offers a variety of features including non-scripted enemy AI, real-time night-and-day cycle, dynamic fire propagation and storm effects, and a dynamic music system. It also features real-time storytelling, and systemic auto-healing. In addition, its players can choose from a wide variety of available weapons.

Online is great, especially with all the user-created maps but the main focus of the game, single player, drags down the overall experience. It has great graphics, open-world design but the gameplay was created to annoy you and it’s hard to overcome and enjoy yourself. If you love open-world games and first person shooters, you’ll probably like this game but for everyone else, there are better games out there. The online experience is great but other than the map... Read more
Scouring the map for diamonds, hidden areas, and the Jackal is what this game is all about. The gunplay, stories and missions all play second fiddle – a means to an end. When you finally track the Jackal down, you’ll find that the ending isn’t what made Far Cry 2 worth playing – the journey was. Read more

Far Cry 2 is a game of massive proportions - an enormous African environment, dozens of weapons, tons of missions, hundreds of secrets, hundreds of enemies and a handful of vehicles to help traverse that vast, vast landscape, all wrapped up in a smattering of ambition for an open-world, free-roaming first person shooter where you are given the truest amount of freedom any game has ever realised… in the top five, at least. There are problems, of course, such as... Read more

This is a great game, although the gameplay is a little repetitive until you get used to the concept. I think the key is to just accept that it's a permanently hostile environment (you're never going to clear out any areas) and the fun involved is simply getting the drop on the enemies. Once I approached the game from that POV, encountering enemy vehicles and guard posts was a lot more fun. Although Ubisoft definitely could have slowed down the respawn time on the guard... Read more

Hmmm Where to begin. FC2 is no doubt a tech marvel. Gameplay is where i have an issue. Fighting malaria, while my gun rusts and expoldes in my hands,as im dodging jeeps running me over and killing the same bullet sinks that i just killed 5 minutes ago is no fun at all. Its as if the gameplay was too weak so they added malaria (with no count the amount of medicine pills you have left). Then hey lets have your weapons rust to **** after only 12 hours in the field,...
